Cannot add plugin to WordPress plugin repository

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to add my plugin to WordPress plugin repository for the last 2 days.
No matter what name I enter, I always get "That name already exists. Please choose another name.”.

Is something wrong with the service? I’ve tried all kind of browsers and the same problem occurs.

Have you considered the chance that your plugin name is already available
for another plugin and you have to rename it?

I have tried with silly names like ‘is-this-one-taken-wp’ but I still get the same result.

No, it is a totally new plugin. I am trying to submit it using http://wordpress.org/plugins/add/
It’s not my first plugin that I am adding to the repository… there must be something wrong :/

The error message is slightly mistaken for one edge case...

We no longer allow plugins that contain "WordPress" in their name. It
is, after all, slightly redundant.

Try choosing a better name. And remember, a "name" is not the same
thing as a "description". Too many people don't put any effort into
naming, IMO.
